White Ribbon Campaign

Wearing a white ribbon is a personal pledge never to commit, condone nor remain silent about violence against women.

History: The White Ribbon Campaign was originally started in Canada as an all male campaign, and remains so today. Men wear a small white ribbon for the first week in December to signify their committment to combatting sexual violence in their worlds. Since it's inception many years ago, the WRC has expanded into a multinational effort including men in Australia, the United States, Europe and dozens of other countries worldwide.

Our Role: We first brought the WRC to Haverford in the fall of 1998 to kick off our activism campaign and to introduce ourselves to the campus. Since its inception at Haverford, we've successfully run the campaign every year, passing out almost 400 ribbons each year. Look for us tabling in the Dining Center in the first week of December.
