Our Programs
Our work is focused fundementally on education.
The following programs are geared toward raising awareness about rape
as a men's issue.
White Ribbon
Campaign
The White Ribbon Campaign is our most visible event of the Fall
semester and runs over the first week in December. Men are encouraged
to wear a white ribbon to symbolize their solidarity and commitment
to never rape.
The Toilet
Campaign
We post quarter sheets over urinals and inside bathroom stall
doors in the dorms and some public buildings. The sheets have seven
points describing rape as a men's issue.
"this
is not an invitation to rape me." Sticker Campaign
Created by the L.A.C.A.A.W. in California, we post these stickers
on our mailboxes to raise people's awareness of the myths surrounding
rape and sexual assault.
Take Back The Night (co-sponsored)
A part of Haverford's events for Rape Awareness Week, we co-sponsor
this event with S.A.R.S.E. and the Women's Center.
Speak Out (co-sponsored)
Another part of our Rape Awareness Week, Speak Out is a time for people
who've been touched (either directly or indirectly) by rape to speak
to the community about their experiences. Very emotional and very
powerful.
