II. Visitors!
Emily once again graced us with her presence, and told us that due to some procedural difficulties in terms of contacting people, the re-release of Charlie might not be until 2nd semester. She said she'll continue to try to get it out this semester, but 2nd may just be better. There's an exciting prospect that an original juror might be able to visit the College and participate in the discussions. At the time of the abstract's original release, the community had already been discussing the serious issues raised by the abstract. It also raises some very difficult and personal concerns for people, so everyone agreed that the abstract should not be released until the community knows what to expect. The abstract is also currently on the Web: http://www.students.haverford.edu/code/abstracts/charlie.htm
III. Committees/Projects
Jared said that some community members had approached him with the idea of a mock trial. Minko stressed what he felt was a missed opportunity in Council's general lack of contact with the HCO's. Other projects that Council members are interested in include general open discussions on issues facing Council, a more focused discussion on aspects of the Social Code, and re-releasing the "Practical Guide to the Code" released a couple years ago. It's a simple guide on procedural details. Hopefully, Council's bulletin board in the Campus Center will be gussied up. Ben mentioned that the Sexual Assault Committee is officially no longer a part of Council, and is its own independent entity, and that they had submitted revised guidelines to Joe Tolliver, and that the discussion now moves to the College's lawyers.
IV. Confidential Portion
Laura pointed out that we shouldn't mention if there's a confidential portion or not.
