II. General Discussions
First we did names so that everyone would be on the same page there.. “Don’t eat your skittles yet, por favor.” The first issue on the agenda was the Honor Council Retreat which will be taking place on Saturday, September 25, and Sunday, September 26. A location has not been selected yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
Next on the lineup was the leadership “retreat” to West Point which two Council members will attend. This takes place from November 1-4 (Monday – Thursday) and focuses on different aspects of leadership, using fantastic folks like Steve Case to address issues like collegiate ethics. The Council members will stay with cadets while there.
Maura raised several projects that Council will be working on this semester. Turn to your hymnal and follow along with this list: JSAAPP representation, the abstract binder, Social Fund Committee (new & exciting) representation, Community forums, the Council web page and Campus Center bulletin board, the mock trial, the Practical Guide to the Code, and possibly the Rape & Sexual Assault Committee.
Maura spoke briefly of HC/Faculty relations and how she addressed new faculty members at this beginning of this year. She explained to them some basics like trial procedure and also answered specific questions posed by the faculty.
For the new folk, questions were answered about what happened last semester and what Council was up to in relation to the Code. Mike R. eloquently explained aspects of Star Wars, with other Council members filling in. If you would like to refresh your memory (or read it for the first time), you can find this and other abstracts on the Council web page at http://www.students.haverford.edu/code. If you have questions or would like to use your voice, please call Honor Council at 896-2917 (which actually spells two-by-17 if you want a mnemonic for easy remembering).III. Confidential Portion

I was officially certified as a Pool & Spa Operator for the State of Oklahoma this summer. ‘Here comes the Health Department! Everybody shape up!’ “I need to see your pump room and chlorine storehouse, please.” ‘The pump room? Right this way, ma’am… Oh, I sure do enjoy those pink sweatpants you’re wearing, SueLynn.’
